Hi! My name is Steve Genett. I love gaming, birdwatching, and private-room karaoke.
I am a serial hobby-hopper. Talk to anyone who’s made the mistake of asking me what I’ve been up to and they’ll tell you I talked their ear off for two hours about whatever new passion I found two weeks ago.
If you can keep my secret safe, I’ll also let you know that I have an unbridled love for professional wrestling. (Yes you are thinking of the right thing – the spandex, colorful masks, and muscly bodies doing flips while theatrically fighting. Yup.)
I’m also passionate about helping folks with ADHD like us untangle their messy adult lives and learn what tools they need to feel in control conquer the shit show that is being an adult.
For years my ADHD kept me from being the friend, partner, and professional I wanted to be.
It didn’t matter that I was smart, worked my ass off to get through college, or had an amazing group of supportive friends. I still could not consistently follow through on anything important. Showing up on time continued to be a rare surprise. Whether or not I could get started on even the most simple task seemed like a roll of the dice. Worst of all, I was constantly carrying around the weight of feeling like a failure.
The skills, routines, and support I now have in my late-30s would have been pretty helpful when I was struggling in my late-20s. Taking the time to learn and hone these tools has been the most important thing I’ve done to improve the quality of my life.
I love helping adults with ADHD like you learn the tools that actually work for us – so you can quit wasting your time trying things that work for other people.
I want to be clear:
I’m not going to give you a Perfect System ™ that will reverse your ADHD. Yeah, it would be easier if there was a “one size fits all” solution to organizing your life. But “one size fits all” never fits an ADHD brain (you probably still have the stack of planners and self-help books to prove that).
What I will share is:
- My knowledge of the research behind what techniques do (and don’t) work for adults with ADHD
- An understanding of how ADHD brains work rooted in neuroscience from my master’s in occupational therapy
- Experience with and passion for helping adults with ADHD problem-solve their unique challenges.
My program is designed to meet you where you are at. Want to learn more?
